How we list firms
TaxiRater is a directory, not a ratings site. Here is what gets a firm listed, where the information comes from, and what we don’t do.
Who we list
- Taxi, minicab and chauffeur firms that serve London and its airports.
- Private hire firms must name their licensed operator. Black-cab apps must book licensed London taxis.
- The firm must publish how its fares work, for example fixed airport prices or a metered tariff.
Where the facts come from
Every listing is written from the firm’s own website: airports covered, how pricing works, free waiting time and how to book. We note the month we last checked. We don’t copy customer reviews or invent ratings.
What we don’t do
- We don’t give scores, stars or rankings. Independent firms are listed alphabetically.
- No firm can pay to appear higher or to change what we say about it.
- We don’t claim to have tested or ridden with the firms listed.
Our own firms
RushXO, Get London Transfer, Woodford Chauffeur Cars and Taxi On The Go have the same owner as TaxiRater. They appear in their own section, are labelled “Same owner as TaxiRater”, and links to them are marked as sponsored.
Check before you book
Licences can lapse. Before booking any private hire firm, check its operator licence on TfL’s taxi and private hire pages. Spotted something out of date? Tell us and we’ll correct it.
